As earlier teased, Google officially introduced two flagship smartphones in new Pixel series – Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL. These smartphones are designed with the combination of Google and HTC. They have launched these handsets at a live event in San Francisco. Both handsets are designed with same aluminum metal body and top part of the back section covered with corning gorilla glass which gives a glassy look. It will be available in three colors black, blue and silver. The blue color is a limited edition which will release only in U.S.
The pixel phone comes with 5-inch AMOLED 1080p display while the pixel xl sports 5.5-inch AMOLED 2K display. Both mobiles have 2.5D curved corning gorilla glass 4 protection. The battery capacity for pixel and pixel xl mobiles are 2770 mAh and 3450 mAh.
Except these changes other features of both smartphones are android 7.1 nougat os, glassy aluminum body back, 4GB (DDR4) RAM, qualcomm snapdragon 821 pro chipset and quad core processor. It comes in two storage variants 32GB and 128GB. There is no microSD slot support for both devices.
The 12.3MP main camera comes with 4K video recording, PDAF + LDAF sensor, Sony IMX378 sensor, f2.0 aperture, 1.5 micron pixel and more features. The selfie camera 8MP features Sony IMX179 sensor, 1.4 micron pixel, f2.4 aperture and more. At the back side Google has placed Pixel Imprint key i.e. fingerprint sensor to make the device more secure.
Rest of specs are NFC, wifi (dual band), bluetooth 4.2, single bottom speaker, 4G LTE with 3x carrier aggregation, Type-C USB, GPS and more. With Quick switch adapter the user can easily transfer the contents from android or iPhone to other mobiles.
In U.S the pixel phone will be available $649 (32GB) and $749 (128GB) and pixel xl will launch for $769 (32GB) and $869 (128GB). The preorder is also available in many countries like Australia, Canada, Germany, U.S and UK.
For India the preorder of pixel series mobile will start from October 13 via flipkart retailer. The 32GB and 128GB variants of Google Pixel will launch in India for Rs. 57,000 and Rs. 66,000. While the Pixel XL handset will launch for Rs. 67,000 (32GB) and Rs. 76,000 (128GB).
