May security patch hitting Google Pixel and Nexus devices

Google has started the official roll out of May 2017 security update for Pixel and Nexus series devices. This patch file is now available to download in Factory Images and Full OTA Images at Google Developer site. The company also enclosed the bulletins for this May patch. According to bulletins the may patch will come in two strings – May 1 2017 (Partial patch) and May 5 2017 (Full Patch). The first one will fix 20 issues and next one will carry fix for 98 issues. Pixel & Nexus owners will get this update in single OTA. After installing this patch, the device security patch level will be updated to May 5.

Google Pixel & Nexus Devices May 2017 Security Patch

Following are the versions of May security patch for Nexus and Pixel series devices:

  • Pixel & Pixel XL – N2G47O, NHG47L (For Verizon), N2G47T (For Deutsche Telekom)

  • Pixel C - N2G47O

  • Nexus 5X - N2G47O

  • Nexus 6P - N2G47O

  • Nexus 6 – N6F27C

  • Nexus Player – N2G47R

  • Nexus 9 (WiFi & LTE) – N4F27B

The nexus 6 and nexus 9 are running on Nougat 7.1.1 version while other devices are running on Nougat 7.1.2 version. Check here to download OTA and Factory Images from Google Developer site.
