Google Pixel and Nexus devices getting March security patch

As scheduled, Google rolled out the March 2017 security patch for Pixel and Nexus series devices. The patch file is now available through google developer site as OTA and Factory image files. It will also push through automatic OTA for nexus and pixel devices. The following are the list of devices that are getting the Android 7.1.1 based March security update.

Google Pixel and Nexus Series March 2017 Patch

  • Google Pixel (NOF27B)

  • Google Pixel XL (NOF27B)

  • Nexus 5X (N4F26T)

  • Nexus 6 (N6F26U)

  • Nexus 6P (N4F26T)

  • Nexus 9 WiFi and LTE models (N4F26T)

  • Google Pixel C (N4F26T)

But Rogers powered Google Pixel and Pixel XL will receive the update in new version NOF27C. Verizon Nexus 6P users will also get the update in other version NUF26N. Google has posted the android security bulletin for March 2017 patch. The new security patch will carry fix for following severity – Critical (3), High (8), Moderate (9) and low (1). Top priority critical vulnerability can authorize hackers to enable remote code execution through email, web browsing and MMS.
