Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are officially unveiled

Google officially unveils second generation of Pixel series smartphones - Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. They’ve launched these two handsets at a live event in San Francisco. As expected, the Pixel 2 series handsets are comes with upgraded hardware specs but retains the predecessor design. Compared to previous model, Google has introduced new color options in Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL.

They’ve also revealed the price and availability of Pixel 2 series at this event. The launch price of Pixel 2 will be $649 (64GB) / $749 (128GB) and the Pixel 2 XL will be available for $849 (64GB) / $949 (128GB). Initially the handset will be rolled out to the following countries – U.S, UK, Australia, Canada, Germany and India. Other regions like Italy, Spain and Singapore will receive this late 2017.

Specs of Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL:

The Pixel 2 features 5-inch AMOLED display with 1080p resolution. The front part of this mobile has been covered with 2.5D curved 5th corning gorilla glass. While Pixel 2 XL uses 6-inch Fullscreen display with QHD+ (2880 x 1440) screen resolution. Unlike pixel 2, this handset sports 3D corning gorilla glass (5th gen) on front. Talking about battery, the Pixel 2 and its XL variant equipped with 2700 mAh and 3520 mAh.

Other specs are common for both smartphones – Android 8.0 Oreo os, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, octa core processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB/128GB internal storage. Camera options are 12.2MP main camera with 4K video recording and 8MP selfie camera with 1080p video recording. It also includes fingerprint sensor, front placed stereo speakers, WiFi (dual band), 4G LTE, Type-C USB, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, IP67 water & dust resistant and more.

Google Pixel 2 will release in three optional colors - Clearly White, Just Black and Kinda Blue. While the Pixel 2 XL arrives in two colors Just Black and Black & White. The roll out of Pixel 2 will start from October 17 and the XL variant will launch on November 1.
