iOS 12.1.1 update now available for iPhones and iPads

Apple has begun to push new software update for its iPhone and iPad devices. This new stable update carries the version iOS 12.1.1 and it’s available to download for everyone. Apple has first introduced the iOS 12 version on September 2018, till now they’ve revised the iOS 12 with three versions (including this new one). With iOS 12.1.1 update, Apple expands the eSIM support to additional networks like AT&T, Rogers, Fido, Orange, Swisscom, Three, China Mobile and so on. These eSIM support available on recently launched iPhone XS, iPhone XR and iPhone XS Max devices.

It also adds some exciting features to FaceTime app - while on FaceTime call you can switch between front and rear camera with single tap, live photo snap has been added during one-to-one FaceTime calls, revamped bottom bars.

Additionally it also brings Realtime Text support for WiFi calling on iPad & iPod, option to hide the side sidebar on iPad while using in landscape mode, preview notification on iPhone XR with haptic touch and stability enhancements for dictation along with voiceover. Bug Fixes:

  • Face ID temporarily unavailable issue has been fixed

  • Issue that prevent to download the visual voicemail will be addressed and solved

  • Predictive text suggestion issue on typing Chinese or Japanese keyboards has been fixed

  • Issue with uploading Voice Memos files to iCloud has been resolved

  • Automatic time zone update bug has been fixed

HomePod new features and bug fixes:

  • Added support to Mainland China and Hong Kong

  • HomePod LEDs illuminate while on Group FaceTime Calls has been fixed

The download size of this latest update will vary by device, but it will not exceed not more than 400MB. If your handset is eligible for download, you will receive this firmware update via OTA. In other way, you can manually check for the update from Settings > General > Software update. It will check for the system update, once it is available for your device download and install the latest update.
