Apple pushing out iOS 12.1.2 update to fix eSIM related bug

Earlier this December, Apple has rolled out iOS 12.1.1 update to every iPad and iPhone users. Now they were started to push another incremental software update which arrive as iOS 12.1.2. This software update didn’t bring any new features, it will focus only on bug fixes and software tweaks for Turkey. Apple officially confirms that this update is currently rolling out for iPhone devices only. We’ve also listed the changes, you can refer it here.

iOS 12.1.2 Changelog:

- eSIM activation related bugs on iPhone XS, XS Max and XR has been fixed

- Fix for cellular connectivity related issue in Turkey (iPhone XR, XS and XS Max)

iOS 12.1.2 bug fix update

Apart from these two important fixes it doesn’t bring any new features. iPhone users in China will receive this firmware update via OTA. The screenshot reveals the download size of this update as 373.5 MB and it may vary by device. Soon Apple will expand this bug fix update to iPads and other eligible devices.

Recently Chinese court has banned the sales of selected iPhone handsets, after facing downside with patent issue form Qualcomm. After that issue, Apple has announced that it could release a software update to overcome these two patent issues in China.
