LG Optimus 2X Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Update Finally Rolled Out

LG was the first company to launch the Android powered dual core Smartphone LG Optimus 2X which also secured a position in Guinness Book of Records.  Most of the smart phones currently available in the market are waiting for their chance to get update of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. LG Optimus device was not getting even Ice cream Sandwich update. The LG Optimus 2X launched in February of 2011 with Android 2.2 Froyo OS in Korean market. First the ICS update was rumored to have been canceled, and then delayed.

Now LG Optimus has finally gotten the Ice Cream Sandwich update for European users. Even through the OTA (over-the-air) update was not available, and users have to install the ICS update using PC Suite. Also LG Optimus 2X carrier locked models update is not yet available. According to the reports on XDA, the v30a firmware for the LG Optimus 2X which is based on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich can now be taken advantage of and downloaded via the PC update utility of LG. 

In order to get the update, users must go through the LG update tool immediately.If you have no idea about how to update your device, simply go to the LG update tool and press the ‘update’ button and it will be done. With this update, smart phone has improved performance along with latest Google apps. These applications include Google Chrome, Gmail and Google Calendar.
