This major software update weighs in 1.7 GB, and it can be downloaded using WiFi network only. We can’t say it sure whether the Android 9.0 Pie will be released for this device or not. This firmware update brings First Responder Network Authority (First Net) IOC2 and modifies the Mobile Hotspot APN.

Along with that it also adds some android oreo goodies like autofill, faster booting speed, picture in picture mode, background app restrictions, notification dots, android instant apps, new emojis and so on. AT&T has initiated the software update already and it will be available for download via OTA. We recommend users to charge the device battery above 50 percent and use uninterrupted internet connection. If you would like to check for manual update just tap the Settings menu and again tap the Software Update option under About Phone menu.
