OnePlus 5T gets Android 8.0 Oreo stable update

After successfully tested the beta version, OnePlus has started to seed Android 8.0 Oreo stable version for OnePlus 5T owners. The company has officially revealed this firmware roll out on OnePlus forums. This stable update released immediately, after the Open Beta 3 which was tested on yesterday. The android oreo update for OnePlus 5Twill arrive as OxygenOS 5.0.2. OnePlus has also posted the release notes at their forum page.

  • Gallery app version will be updated to v2.0

  • Weather and File Manager apps version will be bumped to v1.9 and v1.7.6

Along with these changes, the OnePlus 5T also receives Oreo features like picture in picture mode, notification dots, autofill, faster booting and more. Many users have started to receive this oreo update via OTA in stages. This software update weighs in 1688 MB (1.68 GB).

They’ve confirmed the OTA roll out will start from small number of users and then they’ll will expand it to other users. Some OnePlus 5T users are downloading this Oreo update using VPN network (like Canada, Germany). If you can’t wait for automatic OTA prompt means you can try the VPN method.
