OnePlus brand always keep their fans satisfied by releasing the new features and regular security updates. In addition to that the brand has started to roll out new OxygenOS based Open Beta updates for OnePlus 5 and 5T owners. They’ve officially confirmed this software release on their OnePlus forum and also attached the changelog of this update.
The beta update for OnePlus 5T users will arrive as Open Beta 7 while the OnePlus 5 users will receive as Open Beta 9. Only beta participants are eligible to download this firmware update. If you’ve already enrolled your device in beta program, you can download it as OTA from Settings menu.
Here we have listed the new features and enhancements included for OnePlus 5 and 5T:
Launcher
- Adds double-tap to lock screen feature
- Enhancement related to app drawer search history
File Manager
- Scanning algorithm for big files has been optimized
Suppose if you are a new beta tester means, you need to download the Custom ROM from OnePlus forum and flash it on your phone. Keep in mind flashing process will erase all your data from handset, so backup your files to removable storage. If you want to revert back to official OTA means, again you want to download and the flash the official ROM on your device.
