Verizon the big red carrier in U.S has released a new software update for the following Samsung mobiles – Galaxy S8, S8 Plus and Note 8. It installs the December month security patch on these devices. It may be a late update, but it’s the latest build not an old. The security firmware roll out has been officially affirmed by the carrier. You can also see the updated support page of these devices at Verizon.
According to that page, the new software version for S8 and S8 Plus will be in NRD90M.G950USQS2BQL1 and NRD90M.G955USQS2BQL1. For Galaxy Note 8 the update will come with software version NMF26X.N950USQS2BQL5. This update will bump the security patch level of all these handsets to December 1 2017. These are the changes that have been updated by the carrier on their support page.
The eligible handsets will receive this security firmware update via OTA. To download this update the users must connect their device to WiFi network or mobile data. Once installed this update you can verify the installation from your settings menu.
