AT&T rolling out Daydream VR and August patch for Galaxy S8/S8+

Followed by Verizon & T-Mobile, Google Daydream VR support is now pushing for AT&T Galaxy S8 and S8+ users. The carrier has confirmed this roll out by updating the support page of these devices. Not only enable Daydream VR it also includes August month security patch, optimizations, bug fixes and more are there. The new software version for galaxy s8 and s8 plus will be G950USQU1AQGL and G955USQU1AQGL. For galaxy s8 the update size will arrive as 491 MB while the s8 plus will weigh in 485 MB.

AT&T Galaxy S8 and S8+ Daydream VR Support

According to the release notes, the software bundle for S8 and S8+ includes – improvements in Network performance, WPS, tweaks in UX, bluetooth updates, update for Advanced messaging feature, navigation bar auto hide & AGIF, enhancements in Knox, Email & calendar, app select update, smart help update, stability update and some other optimizations & improvements.

And one important thing is it will not update the android version which will stay in version 7.0. AT&T carrier is sending out this firmware update via FOTA. If you’ve connected your device to WiFi or mobile data, then the automatic OTA will pop-up on your device. If it’s not available you can check for manual update from Settings > About device > Software update.
