Android Oreo Beta 2 for Essential Phone is out

After a month, Essential brand has released Android 8.0 Oreo Beta 2 update for PH-1 smartphone users. The first beta update of Android 8.0 Oreo was rolled out in November 2017. The company has officially affirmed this public beta 2 release on its twitter page. This update will be available only for beta testers who already registered for beta program.

The Oreo Beta 2 update will come with the build number OPM1.170911.213. The download size of this update is 142.4 MB. The latest build includes new features and bug fixes from previous build. According to the screenshot, following are the lists of features that are carried by this software bundle.

Newly added Features:

  • December month android security patch update

  • Oreo Features - Picture in Picture Mode, Smart Text selection, Instant Apps

  • Enhanced Booting speed and app sign-in

  • Adds Google Play Protect security scans

Enhancements and Bugs solved from Oreo Beta 1:

  • Enhances interoperability issue in Android Auto and OEM Bluetooth car kit

  • Battery Life Optimization

  • LED Notification and charging behaviors

  • Fixes Treble related issue

  • Solves the Data tracking bug on U.S carrier based models

  • Fixes the Assistant screen cutoff problem due to status bar

Apart from these changes, the developer build may also fix other bugs that are not specified in the release notes. The existing beta members can download this software update via OTA. The release date of Android Oreo stable version is not so far, you need wait for it.
