Android 8.0 Oreo update rolling out for Sprint LG V30

After Verizon, Sprint one of the popular carrier in U.S has started to seed Android 8.0 Oreo update for LG V30 smartphones. Just now the carrier has begun the roll out and only a small number of users have installed this update. This oreo firmware for LG V30 will update the build number to OPR1.170623.026 and android version to 8.0.0.

The download size of this major software update is 1.7 GB, which is very huge. If you lives in U.S and own Sprint’s LG V30 (LS99820a) means then you’re eligible to receive this firmware update. It will be available for download in batch-wise via OTA. We advice the users to down this update file from server using WiFi network.

The regular oreo goodies are Picture in Picture mode, smart text selection, auto fill, notification dots, improved booting speed, background app restriction and more. It also updates the android security patch level of this device to March 1 2018. Still the sprint carrier has not updated the release notes of LG V30 at their support page. So we can’t tell sure whether the update brings any other new features to this handset.
