Android 8.0 Oreo roll out started for Galaxy A8/A8+

Starting of this year, Samsung has unveiled two successor smartphones Galaxy A8 and A8+ with Nougat 7.1.1. After 6 months of delay, these two handsets are finally receiving Android 8.0 Oreo software update. This firmware roll out is now currently live in Russia and many users have installed this update and shared their screenshot on forums. The new build number for Galaxy A8 and A8 Plus will be in A530FXXU2BRG1 and A730FXXU2BRG1.

It will update the android version of both handsets to 8.0.0, as well as installs the July month security patch. For Galaxy A8 the update weighs in 1132.14 MB (1.1 GB) and for Galaxy A8+ the size will be in 1125.08 MB (1.1GB). The screenshot confirms the software update will arrive as OTA in phases.

What’s new in this update – It brings Samsung Experience 9.5, Dolby Atmos (works on wired and Bluetooth), new camera UI update (like S9 series), Biometrics related enhancements, Quick Panel, Samsung Keyboard, Find My Mobile, Samsung Cloud, Samsung Pass, enabled Dual VOLTE/VOWIFI and still more preloaded features are there. If you own any of this device in your hands, just turn on WiFi network and wait for automatic OTA update. If the firmware didn’t pop-up on your device, you can initiate the update manually from Settings > Software update > Download updates manually. If it is available download and install it on your device, otherwise wait for the official auto push.

Right now this oreo software update has been limited to Russian market, we can expect the global roll out may start from this month.
