For some technical issues, Samsung had ignored to release the software update for Galaxy S9 and S9+ unlocked units in U.S. It’s almost 3 months finished Samsung didn’t publish any acknowledgement or reasons for delay. Hope this news will create an excitement among the users those who are waiting for the update for a long time. Yeah its true, Unlocked Galaxy S9/S9+ units in U.S now receiving its first software update after the 3 months of gap.

S9 and S9 Plus Unlocked Update USA

This latest firmware update will install the most expected June month security patch on both devices. It also brings the new FM Radio (NextRadio) feature which was confirmed by Samsung three month ago. The update will also refresh the software versions G960U1UES2ARF4 (for S9) and G965U1UES2ARF4 (for S9+). The download size for Galaxy S9 will be in 696.28 MB (around 700 MB). While the download weigh of Galaxy S9+ not yet available but it may be similar to Galaxy S9.

According to large file size, the update will not be limited to security patch it will also perform system optimizations and bug fixes. From the screenshot, you may have guessed that the software update will be rolled out as OTA. If you own S9 or S9+ in your hand just go to Settings > System update to initiate the download. If it’s not available for your device, wait for some time to receive the automatic prompt.
