Nokia 2 the first entry level smartphone which was launched on October 2017 has started to receive Android 8.1 Oreo update. At launch it was pre-installed with android 7.1.1 nougat os, later the company has announced this device will be directly updated to 8.1.1. As promised the HMD Global is now rolling out this software update to Nokia 2 devices. Nokia was also opened the beta program for Nokia 2 users on last year June, still many users are enrolled their devices in this beta program.
Existing beta testers will be notified by the prompt to install the stable version of android oreo. The company has planned to bring the Android Go memory management technique to this device, but they didn’t which means it’s a regular oreo version. This latest oreo update may downgrade the performance of this device, so thick it twice before downloading the firmware.
New users who are ready to download this software update want to register here to receive this update. Also note this update will be available only for approved mobile networks, of course they’ve also listed the 7 mobile operators and more than 30 countries that are not eligible (new users) for this update.
