Moto G5s Plus just now getting December security patch in India

Finally Motorola has released the December month security patch for Moto G5s Plus Indian units. The user who received this update notification has shared the screenshot on social pages. As the screenshot confirms, the latest software update will arrive with new version NPS26.116-61. Apart from security update, it also performs optimization in thermal settings, camera app update and fixes general bugs.

The android version of this handset will stay at 7.1.1 (Nougat). For now Motorola is pushing this December patch to Indian market. They may expand this roll out to other regions in the upcoming days. The screenshot reveals they were seeding this firmware through OTA method. The download size of this update will come around 205MB.

To avoid battery drain issues they recommend users to charge their device battery above 50 percent. Also advices users to use high speed data or Wifi network for uninterrupted download. You can also check whether the OTA update is available for your device or not from Settings > About phone > Software updates.
