T-Mobile HTC 8X getting Portico OS update in USA

HTC announced Portico update for Windows Phone 8X device. HTC confirmed the update via email that the T-Mobile variant of its Windows Phone 8X device is receiving the "Portico" update from Microsoft today. The update info comes via T-Mobile’s own support forums and will include an OS as well as firmware updates, bringing both up to OS 10211 and firmware version 1532.20.20004.531.

The update for the HTC 8X will bring many new features, including stability (no random reboots or freezes), SMS call reject, the ability to mass select SMS messages and more under the hood optimizations including a reported great increase in battery life and also address a bugs, including issues with Bluetooth and being incorrectly routed to tethering up sell pages when browsing.

 The software update will be available by Over-The-Air (OTA), but customers can manually pull the over the air update by going to phone update > check for updates. The users those who have not received the Over the Air (OTA) update. To download or check for updates, follow these steps:

1. From the Home screen, swipe left.
2. Scroll to and tap Settings.
3. Touch phone update.
4. Touch check for updates.
5. Follow on screen prompts.
6. Wait as your phone restarts and updates.

Unfortunately there is no indication for variants of AT & T and Verizon about the software update for the HTC 8X.
