BlackBerry Priv on Verizon receiving security patch and Krack WiFi fix

Verizon powered BlackBerry Priv has started to receive new software update. This firmware will bump the android security patch level of this device to October month. While others are rolling out the November month patch but the BB Priv getting the older patch. One good thing with this update is it fixes the Krack WiFi security issue.

The software version of this update will come as AAQ281. Apart from the security patch, it may also tweak the system performance and fixes other bugs. However this firmware will not make any changes in OS version and it still runs on android 6.0 marshmallow. That’s all these are the fixes which are included in this software bundle.

As usual, the firmware update will happen in stages via OTA. To update your device connect it to a stronger WiFi network or mobile data. Before downloading update, charge the battery level of your device at least 50 percent.
