Apple iPhone 5 release in India, cost $100 more than US

As scheduled already the iphone5 was launched in India on 2nd November 2012 in New Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai and Bangalore. The third party retailer’s offering the iphone 5 at cheaper price even through, the cost is high compare with other android smart phones.

Apple handover the distribution process of its apple devices in India to Redington and Ingram Micro a large US based distributor, as its official partner’s instead of telecom operators like Airtel, Aircel. They revealed the price of the iphone5 as 16 GB version’s price is Rs.45, 500($800), the 32 GB version is Rs.52, 500($950) and the 64 GB version is Rs.59, 500($1100).  “According to Apple’s CEO Tim Cook, Apple iphone 5 is one of the best-selling Smartphone with nearly 5 million devices being sold in the first weekend. However, Apple devices are criticized in India as they are always priced much higher than that of its competitors”.

The Airtel offered a lot of data plans for iphone5. This data plans helps the user’s to connect to its HSPA+ and Dc-HSPA networks. The preordered iphone5 was sold out already. The new user should wait three to four weeks to get the iphone5.
