Operating System is a core, which controls the basic operation of devices. A mobile operating system (mobile OS) is an OS built exclusively for mobile device such as a Smartphone, Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), Tablet or other embedded mobile OS. A mobile OS is a set of data and programs that runs on a mobile device which manages all the hardware and optimizes the efficiency of the application software in the device.
A mobile OS is responsible for identifying and defining mobile device features, activity and functions, including keypads, application synchronization, emails, messaging. A mobile OS is similar to a standard OS like Windows, Mac, Linux but it is relatively simple and light which primarily manages the wireless variations of local and broadband connections, multimedia and various input.
